The GULLAK of Modern Times- Rainy Day Fund

  Have not we all had the Gullak in our treasure to store away the little amount of money we used to get from here and there and especially from our good and sweet relatives. Those micro savings of coins from the our dad's pocket and mom's purse, we saved every penny we could. With all these small savings, we would fill our Gullak for god knows what purpose and then suddenly one day you realized your favorite collectible was coming on sale, or a new computer game in town, you  needed sudden cash, liquidity in formal terms I may say.  Gullak kaha se aaya? The Gullak used to come into action with immediate liquidity. I specifically believe to have used Gullak many times when I needed the sudden cash. But why did we all stop this when we were no more a child? Well perhaps our expenditure increased, we got more money from our parents to spend and many of us started earning too.
